Chateau Puygueraud 2009, Cotes de Francs
The blend making up the 2009 is 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Malbec. The wine is an impressive effort for this Chateau, it is brighter, fleshier and more concentrated than many past vintages. Black fruits are abundant, with notes of anise, spice, cedar, plum and graphite. The finish long and supple, without a heavy handed tannic ending. This is more wine than the price suggests. $21.99
