Alvaro Palacios 2008 Finca Dofi

"The 2008 Finca Dofi, sourced from a relatively youthful single vineyard, is composed of 60% Garnacha with the balance Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot aged in 100% new French oak. Aromas of sandalwood, Asian spices, incense, and black cherry lead to a forward, sexy offering with plenty of spice and floral notes. This lengthy effort is one of those rarities than can be approached now but will drink well for another 20 years" Robert Parker, Jr. 93 pts. $69.99

August Briggs 2010 Carneros Chardonnay Leveroni Vineyard

August Briggs may be better known for Pinot Noir and Zinfandel, but, the 2010 Chardonnay is just delightful. While it is not the standard big fat California style chard, it is bright, crisp and clean. The wine has notes of apples, pears, ripe melons and citrus, with a custard richness giving the wine depth. This one will do very well with a wide range of foods. $29.99
