Altos de la Hoya Monastrell 2008

Dark inky purple in color, with aromas blackberries, sweet cherries, anise and smokey notes. The fruit flavors are of cassis, blackberries and baked cherries, with pepper and spice coming in on the finish. Bold and mouth filling without being hard or harsh. A great little value that I use as my house red. Works great with BBQ and pizza. JTF

Steele 2010 Cabernet Franc Rose

Jed Steele hit a homerun with this rose, just when I thought only the French were making good rose. The wine pack with cherry and raspberry fruit flavors with just a touch of spice. A full flavored rose that is rich and dry. Drink this one with cheese, or grilled seafood or chicken. JTF

Ninety Plus 2009 Chardonnay Russian River Lot 29

This is simply put, a fantastic value. Flavors of baked apples, melon, pear and vanilla, are accented by hints of minerals, nuts and orange peel. This wine is rich, but does not come across as heavy. Neyers Chardonnay 2009 Carenros

The 2009 Neyers Carneros Chardonnay shows nice richness, ripe fruit, and good balance. Flavors of apples, pears, spice, pie crust, and a light toasty oak. The wine full bodied with enough acidty, to make this a better choice with food than many California chardonnays. A solid value priced under $30. JTF

Doquet Rose Champagne Permier Cru

Simply delightful! This champagne is fresh and vibrant, full of ripe strawberry and raspberry flavors, with minerals and a touch spice. Very well balanced and clean on the finish! Much higher priced champagnes wish that they offered as much quality as the Doquet. JTF
